Jared's Keepers Foundation, Inc
Ashley Hutchison is a high school junior. She is a writer, artist, and thespian- as well as a proud Jared's Keepers Ambassador! She has set goals as a Keeper Ambassador are to provide a safe environment for students who struggle with various degrees of mental illness as well as provide this for LGBT+ students by involving them in Keepers. As a member of the LGBT+ community and a sufferer of depression, spreading awareness of teen suicide is a very important mission to Ashley, as well as preventing teen suicide.
Caroline attends Austin Peay University in Clarksville, Tennessee. In 2011, she was diagnosed with major depression, anxiety, and panic disorder. Since her diagnoses, she has been supporting others to get the treatment they need like she did. Today, she is on the road to recovery and finds herself as an advocate for suicide prevention as well as for equality among all races, sexes, religions and genders. Caroline was a member of the Honor's Program at Austin Peay as a freshman and majoring in Pre-Veterinary studies to become a Veterinary Technician. She loves acting, singing, playing guitar, dancing, and spending time helping others and being around animals.
C J Walker
CJ is a graduate of Good Hope Country Day School in St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands. CJ spends most of his time on the soccer field, where he met Jared. CJ attended Carson Newman University in Tennessee for two years and was a member of the men's soccer team. During the same time CJ had the honor of representing the USVI on the Men's National Team that made history as the won over Barbados by the largest margin in FIFA history. CJ has transferred to the University of Hawaii Hilo where he will continue his studies in Psychology.
Cameron was a classmate of Jared's and a true friend. Cameron has supported Kelsey with every step of the development of Jared's Keepers Foundation, Inc, the Keepers Clubs, and events. Cameron spoke to Senator Kerry Roberts and interviewed with media to get their attention to the necessity of suicide awareness and prevention among teens. He has been active in sports all his life playing basketball, football, and baseball. He attends the University of Tennessee Knoxville where he studies mechanical engineering. He is pictured here with the War Memorial Bridge in Nashville, TN lit up red in honor of the signing of Jared's Law.
Lauren attends Waverly Jr/Sr High in Waverly, Illinois and became interested in helping those around her who struggled with mental health issues after hearing foundation president, Deb Martin, speak at her school. Lauren felt a call to action. She jumped in with both feet as her school was still in the planning stages of implementing their Keeper Club by asking those who attended her birthday party to not bring gifts for her but rather money to donate to the foundation. Her parents Lisa and Rustin Godfrey stepped up to support Lauren's kindness by matching those gifts and in total raised $400 for Jared's Keepers Foundation, Inc. Lauren became very active in her school's Keepers Club and helps to insure successful events by securing donations, participating, decorating, and spreading the word.
Lauren is active in her community and school as well. She serves as Captain of the Scholastic Bowl team, participates in softball, and is active in supporting her peers in their sports. She is active in her church and youth group as well.
